Passport Offices and Expedited Passports in Missouri
Missouri does not have a State Department passport agency yet, though one is planned for Kansas City. For urgent travel the nearest agencies are in other states, or you can use a registered courier such as Allstate Passports & Visas. Passport acceptance facilities
Use an acceptance facility for a first passport, a child's passport, or a replacement for a lost or stolen one. Many post offices and circuit clerk offices in Missouri take passport applications, some by appointment. Your city page above lists the facilities near you.
Bring Form DS-11 without signing it, proof of U.S. citizenship such as a certified birth certificate, a photo ID plus a photocopy, and one passport photo. Expect two separate fees: one to the U.S. Department of State and one to the facility.
The nearest passport agencies
From St. Louis, the closest State Department agency today is the Chicago Passport Agency, about 300 miles away. From Kansas City, every current agency is several hundred miles away. The State Department plans a Kansas City Passport Agency, so check travel.state.gov for its opening date. Every agency sees applicants by appointment only, and only if they travel internationally within 14 days or need a foreign visa within 28 days. How to book an agency appointment.

Birth certificates in Missouri
The Missouri Bureau of Vital Records in Jefferson City has birth records from 1910 to the present, and each certified copy costs $15. The fastest route is usually a local public health agency: there are 115 across the state offering walk-in service. You can also order by mail, at the state office (an appointment is recommended), or online through VitalChek, the only online service the state approves, which adds a processing fee.
Missouri birth records are not public. Certified copies go only to the person named, their parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, children, or a legal guardian. Bring a valid photo ID. Details are on the Missouri Bureau of Vital Records ordering page.
