Visa requirements
There are regions of Indonesia that foreigners are not allowed to visit without written permission of Indonesian authorities. The regions are Maluku, Poso, Irian Jaya, and Aceh. Those wishing to enter these regions must obtain a permit or authorization from the Deparment of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta. Those visiting Aceh region for work or having activities related to the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency (BRR) must have authorization from BRR before applying for the visa.
- 1 completed and signed online visa application form. Please answer all questions in English. Review the information you entered for accuracy and then print your confirmation page.
- The original passport with at least 1 blank visa page.
- 2 recent professional passport size photos of the applicant.
- Copy of the driver’s license.
- For a business visa – a letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead. For a multiple-entry visa, an invitation from the host company in Indonesia is required.
- For a tourist visa include a letter detailing the purpose of your trip, letter from employer confirming employment, and a copy of your current bank statement.
- Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary.

Documents which are submitted in the manner different from the above will not be accepted. After visa is received, please check it, and if you discover any mistakes, return it to us for correction.
